Our walks, circles and critique nights are open to everyone. The three paid sessions below are extra help from our organisers, priced in Canadian dollars, and each is arranged through the contact page.
Prices are in Canadian dollars. Nothing is bought on this site; all sessions are arranged by enquiry.
Questions we hear often
Ordering takes a few written steps and no payment is taken online. These answers cover how booking, paying and cancelling work.
- How do I book one of these sessions?
- Send an enquiry through the contact page saying which session interests you and when you might be free. One of our organisers replies in writing with a proposed date. Nothing is booked until you receive that written confirmation from us.
- How do I pay?
- After confirming your place we send an invoice by e-mail. You pay it by bank transfer, following the details on the invoice. There is no card payment, checkout or online payment service on this site.
- When is the invoice due?
- The invoice states its own payment date, which we set to leave you comfortable time before the session. If that date does not suit you, tell us when you reply and we will look at it together.
- What happens if I need to cancel?
- Write to us as soon as you know, using the contact page or our e-mail address. Cancellations and refunds follow our Payment and Refund Policy, which sets out the details. Earlier notice always makes things simpler for everyone.
- How is a refund paid?
- When a refund applies under the policy, we return it by bank transfer to the account the payment came from. We confirm the amount to you in writing first. Please allow a few business days for it to arrive.
- Do I need a camera or any experience?
- Most sessions suit beginners and experienced members alike. Bring whatever camera you use, including a phone. For the portfolio review, bring prints or files on a screen, and we will tell you what to prepare when we confirm.
- Can I join if I am new to the collective?
- Yes. You do not need to have attended a walk or circle first. Thomas Beaulieu, our community liaison, is happy to answer questions about our guidelines before you decide to book.
- Will I get a result or a finished essay?
- We cannot promise outcomes, since each person brings different work and goals. What you receive is focused time, honest feedback and practical advice from our organisers, plus written notes you can keep working from.
